Hi. I have an LG V35 phone with Android 8.0 and need to mirror my screen to a TV with HDMI ports.

Researching online, I'm seeing that while the V30 had this ability, the V35 does not, and the only way to do what I need is to purchase an expensive "MiraCast" device (will this work?)

I've seen some very inexpensive "USB Type C to HDMI" adapters that claim to require "DisplayPort Alt Mode" to work, and that my V35 does not support this.

So then I went looking for adapters to connect to my Win10 tablet, but those claim to require a "USB 3.1" port and my tablet only has "3.0" (and again, no "DP Alt Mode".)

Then, I find ONE obscure comment by someone claiming I can use my V35 IF I upgrade it to Android 9.0. But my unlocked (AT&T model) phone does not offer an update to 9.0 (I found the files to do it by brute force, but I'm extremely hesitant to try it... particularly if in the end result is it *still* does not work.

Can anyone confirm any of this? What are my options? TIA.

(Follow up: My Android 8.0 V35 mirrors just fine. As long as your TV supports "MiraCast compatible" Screen Mirror, the "Screen Share" feature in Settings will detect and cast your phone to your TV. Confirmed using a Hisense Smart TV with Roku built-in. No additional hardware needed.)
