LG g7 g710u update issues

Question

Hi,

I bought an "unlocked" LG g7 from ebay with the model number G710ULM running on Android 8.0, I tried to update it to Android 9 through OTA but that didn't work, I also tried LG Bridge but that failed also.

I later discovered that it was a Sprint Version that was cross flashed with an unlocked US version.

Please i want to know if i can flash a KDZ file with running android 9 model G710ULM on it using LG upcut with success.

Also do I need to unlock bootloader to flash this file..
