LG G6 Update for the 997 version?

Question

I have a LG G6 phone that hasnt updated since i purchased it for over 500 dollars!!   The complete model number is LGUS997.  I dont know anyone that has purchased a phone that the manufacturer hasnt provided at least one update!!!  Can you tell me why this phone hasnt updated?  This phone is on the Tmobile network.  I went into the store and they told me its your companys fault.

The android version is 7.0  
the android security patch level is still on september 1, 2017
